Fight
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sumary: Dick and Batmom!reader got into a fight which upset both of them in the end.
Dick x Batmom!reader, Fem!reader (Use of she/her pronounce)
Note: Dick might be a bit out of character in this. Art/picture is from Pintrest, credits go to whoever made it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Get back here, Richard!” Y/N yelled as Dick stormed off towards his room. The two of them had been in a fight. Dick had gotten really hurt on a patrol, but refused to seek medical attention. This, of course, upsetting Y/N. Hating to see one of her birds hurt like this. Yes, Dick was the oldest. yes he was old enough to deal with things on his own, but not with injuries like this. "Richard! Don’t you dare walk away right now!” Y/N yelled after Dick as she walked up the stairs.
Dick ignored Y/N as he continued to struggle with walking towards his room. “Richard Grayson!!” Y/N yelled out one last time before Dick turned around to face Y/N. “Stop it! i am fine! I don't need you to baby me!” Dick hissed at Y/N. He was tired and just wanted to go to bed, but no Y/N needed to be a worried mother hen. “Just let me sleep! I do not need to be patched up!”
“Dick have you looked into a mirror? You look like hell, you need medical attention. Those wounds will get infected.” Y/N answered while trying to reach out for Dick. “I don’t need that, now stop being so annoying and let me be”
“Dickie, come on, please you really need to clean those. I am your mother, let me help you” Y/N Said, her anger slowly fading more and more as she looked at the beaten up boy. Something snapped in Dick’s tired mind and he got furious. “You are not my mother! Stop acting like you are!” Dick didn’t realize what he had said, because he turned around too fast to see the upset look on Y/N’s face. “I… I’m sorry Dick, i’ll let you be.” She said before Dick slammed his bedroom door shut.
Y/N turned around and slowly walked towards the master bedroom, tears rolling down her face as she crawled into bed. After a while Bruce joined her in bed and wrapped his arms around her. “What’s wrong, love? Did something happen with Dick?” Bruce asked, but he didn’t get an answer. not until the next morning. Bruce understood Y/N didn’t want to talk about it just yet and just held her even closer to him.
<----------------------------------------------------------------------->
The next morning Y/N did come down for breakfast, but she was rather quiet. Not like her usual self, not telling Damian to not mess with his brothers or telling Jason to put his book down. Everyone noticed but Dick. He was still upset, but he did feel bad. Once he shut his door last night he realized what he had said and that broke him more than the wounds he had. Breakfast was quiet but not awkward.
After breakfast Y/N just got ready for work and waved Damian and Tim goodbye as they went to school. She kissed Bruce’s cheek when he went to work. Dick looked on as Y/N did her normal routine, only feeling left out since they didn’t give him his hug.
“Mom?” Dick called out to Y/N, but she didn’t answer, too busy getting her bag ready. Dick carefully tapped Y/N’s shoulder which made her stop packing her bag. “Yes?” She answered a bit on the dry side. “Mom… I…” Dick started but he couldn’t find the right words. “It’s okay, Dick, you don’t have to call me mom if you don’t want to.” Y/N said, upsetting them both in the process. She gave Dick a sad smile before leaving for work.
Dick sighs and gets ready for uni. “What was that?!” Jason asked shocked as he looked at Dick from the living room. He had a day off so he was going to do nothing all day, maybe bother Alfred a bit. “Nothing.” Dick answered his brother. “That was most definitely not nothing!” Jason gasped. “Oh my god, you and mom had a fight!”
“We did not have a fight,” Dick said as he shoved one of his books into his bag. “I just said something I regret…” Jason narrowed his eyes and glared at Dick. “What did you say?”
Dick groaned a bit when he stretched his arm the wrong way when grabbing another book to put in his bag. “I might have said that she wasn't my mom so she should stop acting like it” This made Jason gasp. “Yeah, I know, I screwed up...”
<---------------------------------------------------------------------->
A few days go by in which both Dick and Y/N are upset over what happened, everyone saw it. Dick did get some medical attention for his wounds but the sad smile Y/N wore that week hurt more than anything else. Dick sighed and started to make his way around the manor in search of Y/N. He eventually found her in the Batcave looking over some files and homework Damian did. He carefully sat down next to her at the Batcomputer. “Mom?” He said, which made Y/N turn her head towards Dick. “I’m sorry mom. I never meant to yell at you or say you’re not my mother. Because I do love you as my mom even with my own mom being, well not here… I was just so tired and patrol didn’t go well, and uni wasn’t great that day and… and.. I just don’t know anymore. But I don’t want you to be upset… That hurts…” Dick said through his tears.
Dick was surprised when he felt two arms around him. Y/N held Dick close to her. “I forgive you, sweetie, but please don’t ever say it again. It really hurts, when all I wanted to do was make sure you were taken care of. Maybe I shouldn't have yelled, though.” Y/N said as she slowly leaned back and started to whip Dick’s tears away with her thumb. She carefully leaned over and kissed Dick’s forehead. “I love you, Bluebird.”
“I love you too, ma”

Update to this prompt I posted a little while ago. Scroll to the bottom for a link to the story.
Tim gets injured while not wearing his suit one night.
Bernard, who has never met Tim before, finds him and takes him home. He ends up losing his memory and Bernard decides to let him move in while he heals, unaware that he's really Red Robin.
Bruce and the rest of the family can't find Tim anywhere.
Days turn into weeks.
Weeks turn to months.
All without a trace.
Tim and Bernard are getting used to living together, and both the pros and cons of being roommates.
Tim will sometimes have nightmares or flashbacks, but he’s also started to heal.
His family ends up torn, with Jason, Dick, and Steph convinced he’s alive, while Bruce, Cass and Damian have all resigned themselves to believing that he died.
One night, Tim and Bernard take a nighttime walk to a convenience store and witness a robbery.
Tim stops the guy on instinct and has a flashback of fighting with Nightwing. He assumes he was a criminal and runs off before the clerk can thank him.
Something the clerk mentions to Officer Dick Greyson when he arrives to arrest the thief. The clerk hands over the surveillance footage, which ends up being proof that Tim survived.
Dick is overjoyed, but Steph and Jason point out that he isn't being held hostage. He's free and yet never contacted them.
Was he in hiding?
From them?
Or for his own protection from someone?
Or maybe the civilian he was with had done something to him?
Whatever the reason, they decide against telling the rest of the family until they can figure out what's going on.
They begin following Tim, keeping their distances.
Tim, meanwhile, after ‘remembering’ being a criminal, can't stop obsessing over his scars, and who he might have hurt to receive them. He keeps thinking about the convenience store clerk and Bernard, wracked with guilt about all the things he may have done.
Bernard stays by him the whole time, doing his best to calm him down.
Tim doesn't tell him what's on his mind out of fear of being kicked out, and Bernard assumes the event was too stressful for him and doesn't push him to talk.
Eventually, the two of them fall asleep together, and Tim promises to make up for his past crimes by protecting Bernard. Things gradually go back to normal with Bernard going to work and Tim, who has no valid id, staying home and taking care of the apartment.
Nightwing, Red Hood, and Spoiler take turns watching Tim and Bernard.
They still haven't told their family, but know they can't just follow Tim forever.
Before they can decide on their next move, though, Cass bumps into him while grocery shopping. She freezes and he doesn't recognize her, but Dick, Jason, and Steph have to come clean.
Cass is pissed, Bruce wants to bring Tim home immediately, and Damian points out that he might not even want to come home, and that they should leave him be.
They decide that, before they make their decision, they need to talk to Tim. Maybe he really did just decide to quit.
Tim, meanwhile, has been using his free time while Bernard is at work to help people who need it. He becomes somewhat of a neighborhood vigilante, believing that he needs to make up for his past crimes.
Most of the injuries he incurs are minor and easy to hide from Bernard, but one day he takes a knife to the arm.
Bernard freaks out and tries to give him stitches in their kitchen, but then has to convince Tim to let him take him to a hospital.
Tim, not wanting to be arrested for crimes he doesn't remember committing, therefore leaving Bernard alone, argues that he's fine.
It doesn't hurt that bad.
He'll heal.
Bernard gets frustrated and shows off his own scars, which he had worked hard to always keep hidden. He explains what happened to him, and how his family disowned him as a result of ending up in the cult, and that he promises he won't put Tim in a situation where he could be in danger.
He asks to know why Tim is so adamant against going to the hospital and Tim reluctantly admits what he's pieced together from his flashbacks.
Bernard is shocked to find out that he might have been sharing his apartment with a criminal, but reasons that that must be why Tim knows how to fight.
Deciding to focus on the problem at hand, Bernard convinces Tim to at least let him take him to Leslie’s place, as she doesn't ask questions.
Leslie proceeds to ask questions, prompting Bernard to be the one to answer them for Tim.
Leslie comes to the conclusion that Bernard is answering so that Tim doesn't say the wrong thing, and only grows more concerned when she tries to subtly give him openings to slip her a message or some sort of sign that he needs help and he doesn't.
She decides that, since he's acting like he's never met her, she'll play along.
Once Bernard and Tim leave, she calls Bruce and tells him what happened.
Bruce decides it's time to step in because something is clearly wrong with Tim.
Tim and Bernard head back home and have a long talk about everything Tim's been hiding and what he's been up to.
Bernard wonders if Tim might be wrong about his assumption that he was a criminal, but Tim remembers stalking Batman, fighting with Nightwing, Robin trying to kill him and a few other things.
Tim was a criminal, and he's certain of it.
At a loss of what else to do, Bernard convinces Tim to get takeout for dinner, since neither have eaten yet.
Tim agrees and they walk down to Tim's favorite place.
On the way there, Batman and Nightwing show up and order them into the Batmobile.
Tim manages to fight off Nightwing as Batman is driving and Nightwing isn't expecting Tim to fight him and escapes with Bernard.
Their suspicions all appear to be confirmed; the Batfam believe Tim is being controlled by Bernard, while Bernard and Tim believe he's a wanted criminal.
Tim decides he needs to leave, since he's obviously being hunted, but Bernard refuses to let him.
Not alone, at least.
Tim wants Bernard to stay safe, which means away from him, but Bernard is just as worried about Tim's safety. They argue, but ultimately both find an abandoned building to hide in together.
They decide to take turns sleeping and Tim falls asleep wondering what sort of crime he committed to warrant the Bats searching for him. He ends up dreaming of the night he found his father's body and wakes up believing that he killed him.
Bernard has nodded off at this point and Tim needs to clear his head so he heads up to the roof to process what he dreamed about.
The bats decide that, for their safety and his, Tim will need to be taken by force and they can figure out what's wrong with him once they have him back home.
They track them to the abandoned building and break in, but only find Bernard.
Bernard ends up getting captured quickly and taken to the batcave for questioning.
Tim, who witnessed the abduction but hadn't been quick enough in getting down from the roof to do anything, decides it's time to go on the offensive against the bats.
He has had enough flashbacks to piece together that Batman is Bruce.
He's tired.
Angry.
Frustrated.
He's been living for months without knowledge of who he used to be and having to deal with random flashbacks and trying to piece together what his life before looked like.
The bats taking Bernard is his last straw.
He decides to start by breaking into the manor and looking for Bernard there.
Bernard, meanwhile, is desperately trying to convince Bruce and the others that he has no idea where Tim is, that he didn't do anything to Tim, and that Tim has amnesia.
They don't believe him until Tim shows up and goes all-out trying to attack them and escape with Bernard, but Bernard is the one who manages to calm him down and convince him to listen to his family.
It takes a while, and a lot of proof, but Tim finally regains his memory.
He and Bernard officially start dating and move back in together.
They like to joke that Bernard had the craziest introduction to the family, despite being a civilian.

There's something about Tim that has always slightly unnerved Bruce.
That's not to say he doesn't truly love him, the little Robin who dragged him kicking and screaming from the edge, who reminds him everyday he has to be better.
Yet something in his eyes always makes him hesitate.
Watching him solve cases connect dots that even Bruce at his most able couldn't hope to understand.
Watching him fight it's calculated every move planned but executed with a grace that would make ballerinas jealous.
He couldn't identify it the greatest detective stumped by his own son until one day when he walked down to the cave.
His eldest sparing with Tim it was beautiful moves that he could never replicate they worked as if they were one. Escrima quickly blocked by a bow staff, every single move perfectly executed.
It felt like for once he could see clearly the thing that had made him so uncomfortable brought forth a fear that was so instinctual.
It was Dick.
The same moves, the quiet grace the deadly motions, even the anger.
A perfect copy a clone couldn't even hope to achieve.
He stays so still almost frozen afraid to catch the predators attention.
As Tim ends it heading to the showers his eyes drift meeting Dick's.
A smile that before he would call kind he can't help but see almost a sadistic undertone like a animal playing with it's food.
He breaks first, hair standing on end as he heads back up into the manor.
He should do something, but he can't whatever monsters that are his sons he decides to turn a blind eye.
To let the tigers play he knows he is beaten that if he were to try anything his blood would stain his eldest's chin.
But a darker deeper part of Bruce recognizes the same look he ignores in the mirror.
The look that both Jason and Damian try so hard to replicate.
He has never consciously favored his children but as he erases contingencies and allows full access to a network he had never shared with anyone before he can't help but feel a tide changing.
Sitting the next morning at the table secrets smiles shared between him and his sons. Jealously crossing theirs brothers eyes he wants to cackle, scream but it's time he returns the loyalty that they have bled.
After all what's some secrets between Kings and crowned princes.

-Stopped rebirth-
Pain, rage, work, sleep
pain, rage, work, sleep
a cycle that goes on and on and on.
Jason doesn't know how to say anything to his family anymore. He knows some of it's his fault for how he came back but he also refuses to believe it's entirely his fault.
Jason knows he shouldn't come back all right; he knows the Lazarus Pit rewrote his original Resurrection. He has no idea how he knows that's what happened but he does. Memories that make no sense that are popping up on the outside of his vision. Seeing people and thinking of names that are not their own. Doing things that feel like a habit that he has never started.
Jason knows something has been wrong for a long time and he tries not to rage at his family for not seeing it. The days where he fakes missions and just lays on his bed in agony. Feeling as though he has been hit by a thousand bolts of lightning only for it to relent then start again.
For him to feel nothing when he sees the glowing green eyes in the mirror but anytime someone else brings them up he feels like he's on the brink of a breakdown. Hitting harder than he should when he confuses the people in front of him for others. The urge to fight whatever is in front of him whether it be Friend or Foe. The knowledge that he doesn't quite believe he's human anymore that he keeps to himself.
The bone deep terror that Jason feels whenever Bruce mentioned something Jason didn't have before. The rage that fuels Jason's very being whenever Bruce reminisces. Insults on the tip of his tongue that Jason feels like are not for Bruce. The feeling of wanting to cry in the arms of the only father figure he has ever felt safe with only for Bruce to show again that he is not safe.
Wanting to scream that he did not want this, that the bubbling green under his veins is more corrupt than even Ras himself knows. The knowledge that Bruce’s obsession with protecting his home city is the one thing that brought Jason back. Unfortunate knowledge that Jason holds that he could never tell Bruce because the self blame he will inflict on himself would slowly drive him to Madness.
The flinches that Jason sees whenever one of his siblings gets a little too close. The knowledge that he can never do anything about it. He will spew insults at Dick but they will never be seen as playful as he means them.
That he will never be able to play fight with Tim as he wants to as those instincts that told him to bond went too far.
He will never be able to get close with Stephanie as all she has ever heard has been his horror stories.
He will never be able to have a sister in Cass as she has been in the middle of his violence for far longer than she ever should have been.
He will never be able to get close with Damien again as every single member of their family has made sure they are never left alone in a room together.
Pain, rage, work, sleep, repeat

Twins, minus the Demon (Part 1)
.・゜-: ✧ :-
When Damian and Danyal were created, it was not to become the League's successors, but to be the children for the trio to raise.
It didn't work, eveyrhting shattered when Ra's Al Ghul found out about the heirs.
Their Umi, Talia, went back to the League when the two were taken, Mother and Father none the wiser.
And so, they were trained carefully beneath the watchful eye of their grandfather.
Until they were 10.
Talia, Umi, revolved against the leader of the league and sent her boys to Gotham. She kickstarted a war with a battle cry, holding her sword up and chin never lowered.
Knowing Umi would be back, because she always did come back, they separated and planned.
Damian left with Father, Danyal with Mother.
Neither knew of the other, lest they ruin the suprise after all.
Like cats on a mission, truly.
Studying his self-proclaimed blood son, he noticed with sadness that he had Talias eyes, her tan, and walked just like her.
Yet he also reminded him of Selina, with the swiftness of a cat, eyes never straying and only satisfied when succeeded. He mildly notes he had her unruly curls with amusement.
He was a mix of demon and cat, but also with the spice of bat.
Stubborn like him, never backing down and always fighting.
He wonders why Talia left them, hiding a secret child along.
The spot for Robin was free, Tim having renamed himself with a new hero alias and finally flying from the nest.
Bruce should tell Selina, with his new Robin by his side.
While the man mourned, Selina had been enlightened when her eyes met his.
It was bittersweet in a way, to know the woman you loved had hidden a child from her and Bruce, but it also brought hope.
Because wherever talia was, this, this proves she didn't leave for nothing.
Selina sees the similarities between her and Danyal, he was quick-witted, let his emotions in the moment lead, and loves just as fierce as Talia does.
She also sees his hair curl just like her own, blue eyes that can only be from Bruce, lighter in shade than Talia is and with the matching paranoia of the bat included.
And she sent her son to her.
Their son.
Because she couldn't take care of him right now, something happened, and it forced her hand and focused on protecting the child first.
It meant one day, she would come back.
To her, to them.
She needs to introduce him to Bruce.
While Robin had his fair time as vigilante sidekick, Ragdoll robbed the rich and made sure to tease the other as much as possible.
It wasn't until they met, that the light was flipped and the truth revealed.
(For being such a old guy, Danyal really tips his head to Dick, the guy figured him out in a second, not far behind was Tim.)
(He really should have concealed his eyes, would have been more fun.)
They met on a rooftop, Catwoman leaning on a gargoyle as her little helper stood by her side.
(Catwoman wasn't fooled as easy, it took just a few longer glances that she'd figured out the switch.)
The bat's and birds on the other side, and soon enough, Batman gestures to his Robin, who steps forward.
Mirroring the bird, so did the cat.
"This is Robin." He introduces, and selina bites her laughter back, because–
That's her boy, or apparently, one of her boys.
"Ragdoll." She gives a fleeing smile, tilting her head to her apprentice.
"Okay, so, Nightwing, Red Robin and Black Bat immediately figured it out." Robin speaks up, two firm grips on his costume, and one tug has him dressed as his cat counterpart. He seems sheepish.
(Dick in particular is leaning forward with a wide grin, dragged behind him is Jason, interested but stubborn.)
"Tt," Ragdoll throws his own costume away, revealing Robin. "You need more practice. It took catwoman only 3 hours. I win."
The boy walks forward to his twins side, it seemed to amuse catwoman even more.
"Nuh uh! Technically speaking Batman didn't even know!"
Both pointedly look at the clad in black outfit wearing man, frozen stiff and looking between the two.
"Really, father?" Another 'tt' and Robin grumbles. "Fine, I'll take you to the stupid milkshake cafe."
Cheering, Ragdoll is throwing his arms around Robin's neck, dangling in front of his, the older twin having a secure grip on the black collar, lest Ragdoll fall.
"I get my milkshake!" Robin only seems more exasperated at his behaviour, shaking his head.
With delight and literally vibrating from his spot, Nightwing jumped at the two, staring between them with curiosity.
With his lead, so did the other birds and bats, teasing and playfully giving them head pats.
"Twins?" Batman's gruff voice breaks through the little gathering they have.
"Yes, father." The firstborn easily replies, the second only following behind. "Umi didn't want to overwhelm you and Catwoman when she sent us here. Don't be mad?"
"Now that we're talking about this, neither explained your circumstances nor why now?" She nears them with her cat like dance, slipping next to Batman and leaning into his side.
Both twins share a look.
"Umi was adamant that we'd meet and get along first before bringing in our situation." Robin explains, his voice is steady yet unsure in the way only a child with recent loss could sound.
"It's not that she didn't trust you," Ragdoll explains to Batman when the man looked like he wanted to interject. "Umi knew you'd help us regardless of our blood connection."
They share another look, one fiddles with his hands, the other having a steady grip on his hilt.
"This is no conversation for anyone to hear, we can't risk being found because we slacked off in security."
The twin wearing leather and cat ears snorts, mischief twinkling, and jumping forward to give Red Robin a pat on the chest.
A smile only a cat could wear takes over, and with joy he hollers. "Tag! Your it!"
Not even a second later, he was thrown over Robins shoulder and both skedaddled to the cave.
"Tt, truly experts, to freeze like that on a rooftop. Assassins could have easily killed all of you in that moment."
Robins tease echoes through the comm and causes them all to unfreeze.
With a huff of laughter, Red Hood pushed Nightwing to RR as sacrifice and bolted after the twins.
A yelp and Nightwing was swiftly tagged, RR disappearing with Spoiler in tow.
When he searches for a target, both Batman and Catwoman are already gone.
"Aw man."
In the end, Robin comfortably sits at the chair in front of the batcomputer, Ragdoll on the arm rest with his legs tossed out on the others lap.
"You guys are so slow!"
As the other mile around, Damian and Dnyal exchange hushed whispers, only drawn out when Batman urges them by clearing his throat.
"Okay, this won't be easy," Danny drawls the words, fumbling with Damians hair instead.
The other scowls but does nothing else. "First of all, Umi did not leave you willingly." He speaks loud and clear, mask off and staring at Bat and Cat.
"She never planned on leaving, but complications arose with our birth."
Smiling nervous, Danny takes over.
"You're familiar with our grandfather, yes?" At the nods, he grimaces. "When he heard he had potential heirs, he kidnapped us once born. Umi had to follow immediately, lest one of us dies because grandfather wasn't careful."
"She couldn't exactly flee either, with two toddlers, so what she could do, she did. It might not have been the best childhood, but umi did her best!"
While the children of the bat stay mostly silent, Bruce, without cowl, and Selina don't.
"Why now? Why did she send you two at 10?"
Damian drums his fingers on the others legs laid out on him, humming.
"On our 10th birthday, Grandfather gave us a rather... peculiar mission." He winces at the explanation, those words bring no truth of the situation to light.
"What akhi means, we're twins." Dnany holds up two fingers. "Two people, one destiny. Grandfather did not like that two remained, seeing as only one can become the next Demon head."
Someone took a sharp intake of air somewhere, he can't really focus, the memories are not pleasant ones he'd get reminded of.
"Umi didn't let it happen," Damian drawls, massaging Danyal's fingers with bored expression, the forced nonchalance doesn't fool anyone.
"She swung her sword and declared war on grandfather. It was the start of a civil war in the league, dangerous to us for we were still known as heirs."
Danny meets Selinas eyes. "Umi didn't just send us here because of the chance, it was also for protection. With groups joining the civil war for the throne, some might have the idea to kill off the heirs, us in this situation."
A wince and he starts blabbering. "Not that I'd like to die in the next few hours, or days, or weeks, or—"
"You're rambling, daynal."
"Sorry akhi."
With a wave of his hand, Batman nods at the rest of the bat's and birds, they leave to continue patrol.
Silence in the cave, only interrupted by drops of water and the clicks of the bat's above them.
"Thank you." Her voice is soft as she walks to them, heels clicking on the ground. Her gloved hands ruffle the ebony hair of the two and brings them into a hug.
"We will protect you, love you and wait for Umi to come back," Selina declares with careful words, nails running through thick curly hair.
Damian and Danyal can't argue otherwise, the other not as comfortable as his counterpart with the hug, but leaning in neverless.
This will be a journey, neither parents having had twins before and growing back closer with them.
(When talia left, Bruce and Selina grew apart. It brought tension they'd ignore in publics eye, vulnerable moments only for the other to see and so much mourning.)
(Talia is not back, but her children are. Their children. Wonderful twins that will stomp and smash the tension between them and bring back what Talia took.)
(They cannot wait for the day their third will rejoin them.)

Hi! So I’ve had this idea for a while and idk why but I thought I would go ahead and request it. Batfam x Batbro reader who’s the 2nd oldest (maybe their ages range from like 25-18) and is really close with all his brothers. One night after some encouraging from Dick he decides to go out with some friends. While he is gone this villain who he’s been fighting for a while breaks into the mansion and uses his powers of mind control on the family. (the boys and Bruce, Alfred has the night off so he isn’t here) He uses them as leverage over batbro when he gets back from his night out. (Could you focus more on the scene where they break in and mind control happens? I’ve been picturing we see that part happen and then batbro gets home. Kinda like you would see on a tv show) The villain tries to bargain with batbro (maybe he has powers that villain wants?) for his family but because batbro is a smart badass he finds a way to project villain’s own powers back onto himself so batbro is able to command him to release him family and then he gets sent to jail. The brothers are very impressed with his quick thinking skills and they end up having a “sleepover” in one of their room (because let’s be honest, those beds could probably hold like 15 people) and they all fight over who gets to lay next to batbro and Dick and Jason end up winning that fight. It ends with the brothers being like “hope you enjoyed your once chance at protecting us because it will never happen again!” To batbro because they (even the once younger than him) and very protective of him.
If not it’s totally ok!!! Thank! Love your work!!
Okay, this is good! All of you are so creative. Lets go!
Summary: (Y/N) has to save his family from mind control. It goes somewhat good.
Warnings: mind control, original enemy, OC flirting with (Y/N), introvert reader, (Y/N) is a badass.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) looked himself over in the mirror once more. Dick has been telling him for the last week that he should go out. Not alone, but with his friends. (Y/N) preferred his own company over anyone else. Sure, it may sound like he is some sort of antisocial person, but he is just an introvert.
Dick managed to convince him after making a compromise. He wouldn't really go out for the next month and Dick wouldn't nag him about going out at all. Dick happily accepted and made sure to help (Y/N) get dressed.
It was obvious that he is going to go in black, since black is his color and he loved to wear it. Of course, Tim and Alfred would make sure that he wore some color sometimes, but not today. Alfred has a night off and Tim is in his room.
And that's why he looked himself in the mirror once more. A black turtleneck, black pants and on top of that black shoes. Dick wanted to comment on the color choice, but choose not to. If (Y/N) is going out, then Dick won't comment on anything.
Dick and (Y/N) made their way to the kitchen. (Y/N) didn't know if he is going to drink yet or not, but it's better to have a full stomach when drinking. (Y/N) glanced at his rings and his necklace.
His beloved protective amulets.
(Y/N) is a special batkid too. He has powers and sometimes he loved them and sometimes he hated them more than life. He has telepathy and is able to read minds and other things with telepathy that made Bruce pale when he explained it. Second power was pre cognition. Sometimes it turned into full on nightmares and calling out for the person in question.
That was something that he hated, but it was helpful on the field and it was great for avoiding near death situations. Of course, at first nobody knew how to react to the news on the field, but soon they agreed that when (Y/N) said get out or don't do it, they would comply.
And he didn't use telepathy on his brothers and father. He tried not to at least, he couldn't help if he heard a snippet of their thinking process. Sometimes he was freaked out with the way they were thinking.
And sometimes it was just an empty head, no thoughts. That's something that he likes and something that freaks him out too.
Another thing that made Bruce worry is the fact that he is friends with a lot of magical people as Bruce would say. One person was Lord Morpheus, the Dream of the Endless, whatever that meant.
Bruce knew that there was nothing he could do. (Y/N) is an adult and you know, he is responsible for his own choices and actions. Dick knew that too, but he was always worried for his brother.
" Dick, will you stop pestering me? " (Y/N) asked as Alfred gave him leftovers from dinner. " Thanks Alfred. "
" No problem. I'm off, try not to burn the manor down and maybe keep the kitchen intact. " Alfred said and said goodbye afterwards. Dick and (Y/N) said their byes too.
(Y/N) ate the pasta that Alfred has made.
" I'm not pestering you. You are my younger brother and I worry about all of you. Don't drink too much. " Dick said and (Y/N) chuckled as he continued eating.
" Please. You keep forgetting I can read minds. In your mind, you think I'm going to drink beyond belief. " (Y/N) said and Dick started whining at the fact that (Y/N) read his mind.
" Hey! No mind reading! " Dick said and (Y/N) just clicked his tongue.
" That's what happens when you annoy me. " (Y/N) said, putting the Tupperware container in the sink, soaking it in warm water. Dick shook his head as he threw (Y/N) his car keys.
" Now, I want you to go out and have fun. Try not drink too much. " Dick said as he walked (Y/N) out the door. (Y/N) flipped him off and Dick cackled.
" I know you love me! "
(Y/N) gave him another bird and Dick closed the door. Damian walked in, going straight for the fridge.
" Did he leave? " Damian asked as he took a bottle of water out of the fridge. Dick noticed he was slightly sweaty.
" He did. Were you in the gym? " Dick asked and then Tim walked in looking for water too. He was slightly sweaty too.
" I see. A spar? " Dick asked and the two boys nodded.
" Who left? " Tim asked as he opened his water bottle.
" (Y/N). "
" When? " Tim asked, confused. Why did he go? Where did he go?
" Just a few seconds ago. " Dick explained.
" Where? " Tim asked. (Y/N) never really liked to go out.
" He is going out with a couple of friends. Probably to a bar. " Dick said and Tim just nodded, still confused as to why would (Y/N) go out.
" Hey, do we know where (Y/N) is? " Jason asked as he also walked into the kitchen. " I need to talk to him. "
" He went out. " Dick said and Jason has never turned around to quickly.
" No. " Jason said and Dick nodded. " The gremlin finally left his room. Who would have thought? " Jason mused to himself. Dick shook his head in amusement.
" Well, at least someone will have fun tonight. " Jason commented and Dick shook his head once more.
" Wow Jay. I have fun all the time. " Dick said and Tim snorted and Damian had to look away.
" No you don't. Liar, liar pants on fire. " Jason said and Bruce stepped in the kitchen now, looking for his coffee.
" What is going on? " Bruce asked, seeing the way they got along.
" We are talking about the fact that (Y/N) went out with his friends. " Jason said and Bruce raised his brow.
" He did? " Bruce asked, as if the world's greatest detective couldn't believe that his second oldest son was able to go out of the house out for fun and not because he had to.
" Is that really hard to believe? " Dick asked and everyone nodded. Dick just sighed quietly as he looked to the living room. He had to do a double take when he saw Black Seer, just seeing the bastard sitting on the couch.
What the fuck?
Everyone turned to look at the place where Dick looked. Everyone was frozen when they saw Black Seer. He is (Y/N)'s biggest enemy and he wanted (Y/N)'s powers for as long as Bruce could remember.
" Now, where is (Y/N)? " Black Seer asked as he stood up.
" Not here! " Jason said, reaching for a knife to throw. Black Seer tutted as his eyes turned black completely. The knife clattered down on the floor as Jason gripped his head tightly.
Everyone gripped their heads tightly, pain shooting through their heads. Bruce grunted as he felt something heavy in his mind. The others did too. Bruce felt something penetrating the defenses of his mind. He tried to fight it as his knees gave out. He held on the counter tightly as he tried to stand up, but with the headache that's the size of America that was rather difficult.
Bruce kept on grunting. Black Seer watched in amusement as the vigilante family fought the mind control. But alas, there was nothing they could do. It was only a matter of time before they succumbed. Jason didn't want to go down quietly as he grabbed the knife from the floor.
Black Seer tutted as he pushed further in Jason's mind. Jason screamed as he felt the last defenses were breached. He fell down unconscious and the others were not far behind. Damian and Bruce were fighting the most.
" Come on, let go of the control. The sooner you let go, the less painful it will be. " Black Seer prompted, watching in amusement as everyone lost control. Jason was the first to break. He stopped grunting and just looked blankly ahead. His eyes turned black and he knelt in front of Black Seer.
Damian was the next who followed. He fought long and hard, but in the end he succumbed too. He cursed in Arabic before and just stopped resisting. He knelt to in front off Black Seer, just like Jason.
Dick and Tim were the next ones. They put up a big fight, but in the end it was all the same. The two knelt down in front of Black Seer, with the signature black eyes.
Before Bruce lost control, he thought about (Y/N). When is he going to find? Will he have a vision and come and save them? Maybe he will, maybe he won't. Bruce could only hope that (Y/N) would come soon.
(Y/N) sat alone in the bar. His friends had left a few minutes earlier, but he just wanted to sip his drink a bit longer. He found this bar to be cozy and nice and the service was actually really great. And they had great burgers.
He nurtured his cup of Jack and Cola, a nice drink that he has just discovered. He is going to drink all of this and probably one more before going back home, you know, one for the road.
" Anything else I can get you? " A bartender asked, walking up to (Y/N) from the bar, wiping down the counter next to (Y/N) left.
" No, thank you. " (Y/N) said, sipping more of this drink.
" A loner night then? " The bartender asked and (Y/N) shrugged.
" Not really. I was out with friends and they had to leave. I decided to stay alone here. I said why not. " (Y/N) answered and the bartender nodded his head.
" I know that feeling. "
" Thank you... " (Y/N) said, trailing off to get a name.
" Chris. " Bartender filled in the blank with a smile. (Y/N) smiled back shyly before sipping on his drink to avoid talking. Chris took a hint and moved to the right, going to serve another guest.
Oh my God. Was there something more? Is (Y/N) reading more into this? Is he underreading into this?
(Y/N) cursed quietly as he looked up. Son of a bitch. Damn his introvert nature and his awkwardness. He took his phone from his pocket to check the time.
He sighed as it was time to go home. He finished his drink in one go and took his wallet out to pay his tab and tip. He put some cash into a tip jar and he called Chris over.
" Ready to pay? " Chris asked with a smile and (Y/N) gave him his credit card. " Yup. " (Y/N) said, saying to himself that he is going to come back to this bar.
Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to go out tonight. Just maybe. But he would never tell Dick that. He would kill himself before doing that.
Now, this would be good if he wasn't put in a trance by his vision. Black Seer?! In his manor?! (Y/N) was more alert now, waiting for Chris to come by with his card.
" Here you go. " Chris said with a smile and (Y/N) had to force a smile on his face.
" Thank you Chris. " (Y/N) said, standing up. His legs felt like jelly as he stood up.
" I hope you come back. "
" We will see. " (Y/N) said with a forced coy smile on his face. He is going to come back, that's for sure, but after he gets Black Seer out of his house and away from his family.
Like now.
He practically ran to his car, hands shakingly unlocking the car. He turned on the car, driving to the manor as fast as he could. He could only hope that he is not too late.
Oh God...
(Y/N) parked the car before slowly entering the manor. He walked to the kitchen first and seeing a knife on the floor didn't give him any hope. He walked further into the house, shocked when he saw Black Seer.
(Y/N) felt shaky when he saw his brothers and dad under mind control. But now wasn't the time for fear. He had to think quickly on his feet.
He knew what Black Seer wanted. He wanted (Y/N)'s telepathy and pre cognition. He knew it all too well. He still remembers when he saw Black Seer for the first time. He was scared, but he was stronger now.
Bruce trained him mentally and (Y/N) had many fortifications. Not to mention, (Y/N) has been trained in martial arts, just in case according to Bruce. Just in case.
" Hey asshole. " (Y/N) said as he walked closer slowly to Black Seer. He didn't want to scare him and do something to his family's minds.
" That's no way to talk to your enemy who controls the minds of your family. " Black Seer said in his silky voice and (Y/N) knew he had to breach Seer's mind in order to do this.
That is not an easy feet, considering the fact that just tapping into the mind and not reading it are two different things. He knew that he had to thread carefully now. More so when the source of his powers in the mind are very protected.
" I mean, you come into my home, threaten my family and me. Am I supposed to roll the red carpet? " (Y/N) asked, tilting his head with a sarcastic smile. He started tapping into his mind, looking for a way in.
" I mean, that would be nice. It would fit the theme of the manor too. " Seer said, looking around. (Y/N) took a deep breath as he found a week spot.
Now he just had to maneuver his way through the maze and reflect the power back. It's a ballsy move, but hey, sometimes you need to have balls in order to do stuff.
" Sure. Should I serve you caviar too? " (Y/N) asked, allowing sarcasm to seep through.
He is just there. A few more moments.
" That would be nice. " Seer responded and (Y/N) saw it. He just saw the opening and he took it. It took everything in him to not start smirking.
He took a deep breath as he mirrored the power. It took everything in him, this type of reflection is really difficult to pull off. He still needs to learn how to reflect such powers and it takes a lot of mental stamina.
He sighed in relief as his family members were released from their mental shackles. Bruce was taking deep breaths and (Y/N) said that they need to call the Justice League now.
Everyone scrambled to call them and (Y/N) still waited. Once the power damper was put around his neck, (Y/N) relaxed and Bruce caught him before fell down completely.
" Good job son. " Bruce praised as he picked him up like a toddler. He saw the exhaustion in his eyes and waited for the bastard to be taken to jail.
Somewhere far away from them. In another dimension maybe.
The brothers slowly made their way to their brother in Bruce's arms. Bruce allowed (Y/N) to stand and the brothers hugged each other tightly. Bruce joined in, happy to have his sons back.
" I have to say, this was badass. " Jason said, squished in the hug.
" I have to agree Todd, it was smart. " Damian added and Tim and Dick just hummed, too tired to talk.
" Now we need to have a sleepover. " Dick said and everyone had to agree with that.
Bruce picked (Y/N) up and everyone moved to the rooms. More specifically, to (Y/N)'s room. (Y/N) was left in his room to change and that's what he did. The others came by not even 20 seconds later. They were arguing about something while (Y/N) was laying down on the center of bed.
He didn't expect Jason and Dick to jump on either side of him and he didn't expect to see Tim and Damian sulking. After some grumbling they all laid down, Dick and Jason on either sides of him.
" You know, you will never protect us again. I hope that you enjoyed it, because it will never happen again. " Damian said and (Y/N) shook his head, chuckling quietly.
" Sure, sure. "
The others agreed with Damian, even Jason.
" Now that you said it, can we just sleep? I'm tired. " (Y/N) mumbled, closing his eyes.
There were mumbles of agreement and the brothers fell asleep quickly. Bruce joined them a few minutes later. He just wanted to hold his sons for the night.

DPxDC Prompt where when Jason is resurrected, he does not become fully conscious. He lays in his coffin, at rest while his body slowly absorbs the ambient ectoplasm of Gotham and tries to fix the improper formation of his core.
The rest is not altogether peaceful. He often has nightmares, and has no way of escaping them. The ambient ectoplasm in Gotham is sustaining Jason, but what repairs the ectoplasm is managing are agonizingly slow.
-
Danny has been living in Gotham for awhile, having moved there with Jazz as soon as she turned 18. Gotham has its own host of ghosts, but Danny feels at ease without the constant strain of ghost fights.
That is, until he feels something amiss in the Gotham cemetery.
The cemetery feels wrong, in a way Danny can't place. It reminds him of Amity, how restless it is-- only different. Wrong. He keeps visiting the cemetery, trying to find the source of that feeling. The entire graveyard is saturated with it, and all Danny can do is sit in the graveyard and talk into the quiet. He lets emotions flood from his core, trying to exude an air of calm that might settle whatever restless spirit haunts the grounds.
It works, at least. The sense of restless agitation eases when Danny flares his core, settling into a quiet comfort.
It becomes stronger, too. Danny can feel it coming from a newer section of the graveyard, and he curiously wonders why he's drawn more and more to a single line of headstones.
Wonders why the one on the end seems to stand out, the name Jason Peter Todd burning itself into his dreams.
Wonders why he feels a kinship with this boy's grave, when he can't even see a ghost attached to it or feel any resonance of a core. Nothing stronger than the blob ghosts that haunt the grounds, at least.
Only ever those strange emotions and that restless energy that quiets with the sooth of his own core.
Yet one day when Danny visits the graveyard and flares his core, he's startled when another one answers his.
-
[I originally posted this prompt in the Batpham server and it ended here, but several of us expanded on it and what I’m posting after this are the additions I added in that discussion, some of it edited.] Jason never actually digs out of his grave. When he finally awakens and tries to dig at the coffin he actually slips through it into the soil above. A hand thrusts its way through the soil and pulls him the rest of the way up
Danny is the only one present when Jason comes out of his grave-- when he pulls him free, a ghostly inversion of Robin who he knows to be a halfa. In his confused state, however, Jason does not linger in the cemetery. He runs off, and even though Danny's half ghost and can get around fast, Jason is now too and knows the city well enough that he manages to slip away. He's terrified, confused beyond reason, and hiding.
Jason hangs about the city, and at times he goes up on his favorite gargoyle to think-- and that's the first time Babs sees him. She thinks it's just a mistake-- her own imagination-- because as soon as she looks again, he's gone.
But it keeps happening. Dick swears he sees Jason near the manor grounds when he goes to visit. Alfred swears he sees him in the rear view mirror of the car one day. Tim swears he sees him while heading home one night. Bruce sees him on patrol, long enough for the two to lock eyes, but before Bruce can even open his mouth he's gone. And Danny isn't helping, because he's Looking for Jason still, trying to help, and this suspicious kid keeps turning up in the weirdest places and at a glance he looks like Jason too.
And it fucks with Bruce's head so badly. He can't say anything about it for days, and when he shakily admits it to Alfred the butler tells him he saw the same thing-- and when the others also share this, all of it lining up too perfectly, that's when Bruce approaches the grave and finds it empty.
During this, Jason naturally grows more bold after his initial shock and confusion dies down. He's a bold and smart kid, even if he's confused and afraid. He's just trying to investigate and see how Gotham (and his family) are doing and figure out how he can approach Bruce. He sees Tim and can’t help but feel forgotten and replaced, but without the rage from the pit he's trying to be a bit more level-headed and think things through.
Jason is also learning more about his new physiology, which keeps him distracted and his mind busy. Trying to figure out himself as much as those around him. But some things still haunt him and cannot be so easily ignored.
An encounter with the Joker sets Jason off.
Jason sees the Joker and that rage and hurt builds inside of him and he manages something similar to a wail. It's the most broken sound Danny's ever heard. It's nothing like his wail, it's more like choking and static and more a feeling in the chest than a sound. Jason died from inhaling smoke and didn't have any dying screams. It’s a shattered, raw wall of reverberating emotion that has no justice.
And Danny goes to it-- stumbling, because it's raw enough to punch at his core-- and he just finds the kid he's been looking for knelt on the ground, keening and sobbing his heart out. Danny goes to comfort him, tentatively wrapping an arm around him while they're surrounded by Wreckage (and a clown-shaped dead body).
And when the bats get there they finally get a good look at the specter they've been seeing all around Gotham, and it's absolutely Jason-- with another boy beside him... And the Joker's body, twisted and bloody. But when Bruce gets close, Jason startles, visibly terrified and hurt, and Danny hides them both from view and whisks Jason away to hide him.
Bruce let the Joker live-- and now Jason has killed the man and that horrified expression he caught on Bruce's face won't leave his head. He feels like a monster, destroyed with grief and hurt, and doesn't know what to do.
Danny takes Jason home, and he’s just a fucking Mess. When they get to the apartment Jazz is just about to leave. She was sleeping but the reverberating “wail” woke her and she’s been in a mad dash to grab all of their weapons to storm out and see what the hell has happened.
But right before she can leave, Danny appears with Jason in tow and all of Jazz's questions die on her tongue when she catches sight of the kid. Danny's told her a lot about Jason since he first met him-- and about the cemetery even before then-- and she's been trying to give advice and help out in whatever was she can from a distance. And now, seeing this kid actually here and just the sheer wreck that he is, she can't help but feel fiercely protective of him. She doesn't even know what happened down in the streets, just that Jason's in distress and needs help.
No questions asked, she helps Danny sit him down on the couch, wrap a blanket around him, and make some hot chocolate to try and get him to relax. She certainly has plenty of questions she Wants to ask, but that's not what's important right now. Right now she just has two severely shaken boys that need a safe place and time to calm down.
And even once she knows what happened, Jazz is nothing but supportive. Hell, she's happy to see the Joker is gone, but she doesn't focus on that because it's also not what's important. Instead she just does what she can to make a comfortable space and lets Jason know she's there to listen if he needs to talk.
And at first Jason is hesitant around Jazz-- and alarmed at first that Danny brought him to someone he doesn't know-- but Jazz is so patient and understanding. Jason can't help but relax around her. In a way it hurts, because it reminds him of his own family, but he'd rather have this than nothing, not knowing what reception he'd get back at the manor.
Danny's terrified Batman will want to hunt them both down. He knows this kid used to be Robin, but Jason's own reactions to Batman aren't making Danny feel more secure. If anything, he has a bone to pick with Batman himself now.
And Bruce is just left to reflect on what's happened, knowing that something of his son is still lingering. And he can't stop thinking of that Feeling the wail Jason made left in his chest. He keeps going back to his empty grave, hoping he might find him there. Hoping he might get to apologize to more than just the flowers.
Danny finds Bruce at the grave-- as Bruce, not Batman-- and he puts it together. He thinks he already knew it too, since while he refused to look up Jason Todd's name, it's Too Familiar.
Danny confronting Bruce angrily, expecting the man to rise to his challenge, but all he's met with is just a grieving father who desperately wants to see his son again.
And Bruce recognizes this kid and knows Danny knows where Jason is, but instead of demanding to know where he is he just asks if his son is okay. Because after feeling that wail and seeing what he saw that day, Bruce knows Jason must resent him. He doesn't even know what Jason is anymore, but he knows he's still the kid he loved and he's hurt and Bruce doesn't think he can fix that. He just wants to know if he's okay, and for Danny to tell him that he's sorry. That if Jason ever want to come home, the door will always be open.
Jason is terrified too cause he truly wanted to kill the Joker, but he didn't expect to If he was going to kill him, it would be in a way he could feel with his hands. But the way he did it was in an uncontrollable show of power that he's not sure he could have stopped.
And Danny keeps trying to reassure him that he not only will get a better hold on his powers, but that he's not a monster. That what happened wouldn't repeat itself because the only reason it happened in the first place was because that was the man who Killed Jason and ghosts are emotional beings. It’s still a struggle.
Unfortunately, the Fentons make their way to Gotham. News of what is clearly a ghost killing a person-- villain or not-- is big enough to reach them in Amity. Jazz and Danny were only in Gotham because the parents couldn’t stomach their son being Phantom-- assumed Phantom was overshadowing Danny and turned a moment of trust into one of betrayal. The siblings were trying to lay low, but... well it was Phantom that was seen with the other ghost.
The Fenton parents come to the town with an entire Arsenal and approach the Batman, going on and on about ghosts, how dangerous they are, and in particular how dangerous These ghosts are. They lament about the Death of their own son, and the entire time Bruce is just-- shocked. He wasn't even sure what Jason was, and while the word ghost does seem to fit it still feels like his heart breaking all over again.
And he can't forget how broken Jason seemed, and how protective this Phantom was of his son. He doesn't believe the Fentons, but he does Fear them. He fears what they might do, and that's when he learns about the GIW and that these people are acting Lawfully in telling him, to his face, that they want to hunt down his son.

Trolls/Batman Crossover - Branch Wayne
Okay, so I've kind of been making little fic prompts where Branch falls through the walls of canon as a child and is raised in alternative universes. Today, lovely people of tumblr, we are going to send our wonderful little grumpy bean into the care of one of fiction's most notorious adoption addict, Bruce Wayne.
Not entirely sure on when it happens, but considering that Branch is around 24 at the time of modern canon, that would put him in the same age range as Dick Greyson (I'm going by Wayne Family Adventures, because that's the most wholesome batfam in canon, and likely this post i made a while ago pls read it for context), so, he and Branch would be taken in around the same time. Maybe Gotham first left Branch with the Flying Greyson, before going with Bruce along with Dick.
In this world Batman would have two child side-kicks, Robin and Meadowlark (I was going to go with Raven but that was taken and Meadowlark are birds that mean the end of suffering). I'd imagine that Branch wouldn't be as vengeful as little Dick, but he'd still follow Dick to make sure nothing bad happened, and did agree to training when Bruce offered as he wanted to protect himself.
For the next few years things are peaceful, for Branch. He loves going to school, he loves his foster father, Dick is the best brother he's ever had, he loves being Meadowlark, Alfred is a saint, and the Batman's legend continued to grow. The trio really leans into the spirit garden accept of their mysterious nature, half the city thinks their demons. And all the rogues say it's true, because it's less embarrassing to get their butt kicked by demon's of dark justice then just a guy and two kids in furry costumes.
Of course all goo things must come to an end. While Branch can put up with Bruce's overprotective nature as he got older, Dick cannot and so he and Bruce are constantly butting heads. The hostile home environment, eventually boils over with Dick striking out on his own, but Branch does not take it well. Once more a brother has abandoned him, and it climax's in a total panic attack where Alfred gets the story of how Branch lost his bio-family, and he's terrified that it was happening again. All this Alfred, does tell Bruce and they both work to assure to Branch that he'd always have a home at Wayne Manor. Branch is one of the kids who didn't move out after he moved in.
When the other children come along, at first Branch is worried about doing what Dick and his brothers did and screwing up the littler ones even more, but eventually he finds confidence as his role of one of the oldest in the Bat's brood.
Jason is the one who has to deal with Branch's awkwardness the most, but the kid didn't really mind. Both of them were academically inclined and were often found cuddling after falling asleep from reading too long. Jason's adoption also prompts Branch to Ask Bruce if he could be adopted too, and when his request is granted he's nearly brought to tears. Because of all of this, Jason also grew much more attached to Branch then to Dick. Mostly because Branch was there, and wasn't fighting with Bruce every time they came in contact.
Speaking of post move out, Branch and Dick. After Jason's death (a crushing blow to Branch that forever solidified the joker as his least favorite rogue), Dick tries to come around more at Alfred's request, and well, Dick is heartbroken when he learns that Branch thought he wouldn't ever comeback. In Branch's mind, Dick fought with Bruce, left and wasn't ever going to come back. Dick will spend years trying to make it up to Branch, but they will never be as close as they were as young kids.
Tim had to deal with a grieving Branch and that Branch was mad. Mad on Tim's behalf that is. The Drake neglect hit all to close to him, making Branch remember the neglect that Troll village had for him. It like looking in a mirror, watching Tim go above and beyond to prove himself, as Robin. Branch is also pissed at Bruce, he gets it, Jason's death hurt him too, but that's no excuse to treat Tim like shit, when the kid was only trying to help. Knowing what it was like to have no one in his corner, Branch would do his best to be in Tim's both in and out of the Mask. They would bond over trying to solve famous cold cases, and sci-fi movies. With Branch, Dick, and Branch knocking some sense into Bruce earlier, Tim flourishes.
When Cass shows up, Branch's awkwardness returns, after all he's never had a sister before, and she doesn't talk. However, Branch would join in on the sign language lessons, and over time learns just how sweet of a girl she is. He teaches her to cook, and help her find herself.
Stephine (Yes, I count her, she might not be Bruce's kid, but she's definitely a bat-sib), is a little much for Branch. Her boundless energy is a lot like a certain pink Princess', but Branch can see the difference, Gotham knows Poppy would never be able to kick butt like Spoiler. Their not the closest but they know they can count on each other.
When Jason comes back as Red Hood, its bitter-sweet for Branch. On one hand Jason is alive, but the Red Hood is not same person that was once Branch's first little brother. Still Branch tries to get Jason to come home, it takes a while, after all Pit Rage is no joke. But Branch does help clear up a lot of the misconceptions between the stupid people in his family who won't communicate (not that he's any better at it).
For Damian, Athanasia, and Mara (The latter two are Damian's bio-sister and cousin/ Bruce needs more daughters people), Branch's job is simply, "Don't let them kill each other or anyone else". Athanasia is sweet enough, and is the least trouble maker out of all of them, but the other two? Mara seems to think she needs to compete for her place in the manor, and Damian is constantly trying to kill Tim, as he thinks that the middle child is after the batman title, which Damian wants for himself.
When Terry, Matt, Dana and Max, universe jump to save themselves, Branch is just there. He helps them adjust, but his role isn't that major.
By the time that he turns 24 in Gotham, Branch has a college degree (nothing about a bachelor's since, most masters/phd's holders become rogues and have been banned from the cave/manner), a father, a step-mother who cares (Selina), two loving Grandfathers (Alfred, Thomas Wayne [flashpoint]), Three badass aunts (Kate, Harley and Ivy), what ever the heck Luke and Babs are, and a gaggle of siblings he'd seriously maim anyone for (Dick, Jason, Cass, Stephine, Tim, Duke, Cullen, Harper, Damian, Athanasia, Mara, Terry, Max, Dana, Matt, and little baby Helena [also Keith, Zuko and Jet, if you count the other crossovers in the mentioned linked post at the top]), who all come over on Tuesday for a family dinner. His life is seemingly perfect.
However, for his bio-brothers things are very much not. By some miracle, they pull together to save Floyd, but it was a really close call. They all (+viva and poppy) make it to Gotham, via a very disgruntled John Constantine and a letter that Gotham left in Peppy's care.
I'm not entirely sure plot wise where it would go. I think they would probably land in Crime Alley, and be horrified by the place. The trolls world is bright and colorful, and Crime Alley is not. Maybe they'd come across some of the Alley kids and they would point out some grafiti of the Batfamily. Though, the would definitely get jumped once the sun goes down. Jason likely coming to their rescue.
Brozone's reaction to the Batfamily is a mix of shock and confusion. Branch has his own new family, and his new siblings aren't making it any easier. The adults (Bruce, Selina, Alfred, Kate, and Thomas) are civil, but still intimidating. The children however? Branch is their big brother, they are going to get a little petty revenge for him. Jason and Tim would just off the hand mention how dangerous their lives are and how Jason died. Cass would sneak up on them. Mara, Damain, Matt and Attie would openly threaten their lives. And the rest of them would totally flaunt how close they were as siblings even if they literally have tried to kill each other in the past.
A breakout would definitely happen at one point. Not sure when, but i'm tempted to pump up at least one of the Brozone members on Fear Toxin.
Also Bruce Wayne and TBruce meeting would be weird. Like two guys by the name of Bruce with over ten children each? Yeah, BW would take the possibility of them being multiversal counterparts way too seriously.
So ya'll thoughts? I have people from both of these fandoms watching my account, so I'm interested in what ideas ya'll have.

Little Fever
Reader(mom) x bat boys (Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne)
Summery: You catch a fever one night, all of your sons want to stay by your side.
(I don't own any DC characters)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She was making herself coffee, the quiet hum of the machine a loud background noise in the otherwise silent penthouse. The digital clock on the microwave blinked 3:14 AM, a time that was both too late for insomnia and too early for the beginnings of a new day. The moon cast a soft, pale glow through the floor-to-ceiling windows, painting the gleaming chrome surfaces with a cool, blue light. She wrapped her hands around the warm mug, the heat seeping through her skin and into her bones, a stark contrast to the chill of the room. Her eyes felt heavy, but she blinked away the fatigue, knowing sleep would be elusive tonight.
The first signs of the fever had appeared just hours earlier, a sudden warmth that spread through her body like a wildfire. She had tried to ignore it, chalking it up to the heat of the city outside, but when the chills began, she knew she couldn't hide from it anymore. The boys, her makeshift family, were all tucked in their beds, oblivious to the battle she was fighting. She took a sip of the steaming drink, letting the caffeine and warmth wash over her, hoping it would be enough to clear the fog in her head.
The door to the kitchen slid open and Dick, the eldest, stepped in, his eyes immediately finding hers. He was dressed in his nightclothes, his hair a mess from sleep. "Oh, it's you," he said with a sigh of relief, probably expecting to find Bruce in his usual nighttime patrol. "What are you doing up so early? And making coffee?"
"Couldn't sleep," she replied, her voice a whisper, not wanting to disturb the silence of the night.
"I bet you couldn't, with the racket this thing makes," he says, gesturing to the coffeemaker with a smirk as he crosses the room to join her. His bare feet make almost no sound on the cool marble floor, a testament to his years of stealth training. He takes the mug from her hand and sets it aside gently. "You know, caffeine isn't exactly the best cure for what ails you." His tone is light, teasing, but there's a thread of concern in his eyes that she can't miss.
"I know," she says, managing a weak smile. "But sometimes a girl needs her vices."
Dick's smile fades as he feels her forehead with the back of his hand. "You're burning up," he says, his voice suddenly serious. "You should be in bed."
"I'm fine," she insists, though her words are met with a skeptical look from Dick. "It's just a little fever."
Dick's eyes narrow, and he crosses his arms. "A little fever can turn into a big problem if you don't take care of yourself. You know Bruce would have a fit if he knew you were up making coffee at this hour."
"Well, let's not tell him, then," she jokes weakly, though she knows he's right. "But really, I'll be okay."
Dick shakes his head, a stubborn set to his jaw that mirrors his father's. "I'll be the judge of that," he says, already turning to a drawer and pulling out a thermometer. The plastic stick reflects the moonlight as he snaps it open. "Open up."
With a sigh, she complies, allowing him to slide the cool tip under her tongue. The digital numbers on the display flicker to life as it reads her temperature. Dick's expression tightens as he looks at the results. "101 degrees," he murmurs. "That's not 'just a little fever'."
"Okay, okay," she concedes, leaning against the counter for support. "Maybe I'll go lie down for a bit."
Dick nods firmly. "That's more like it. You need to rest." He takes her by the elbow and gently guides her towards the staircase that leads to the upper level of the penthouse. "Come on, I'll help you to bed."
As they ascend the stairs, she can feel the heat radiating off her body, each step a small victory against the wave of dizziness that threatens to overwhelm her. She's grateful for Dick's steady presence beside her, his grip tight but reassuring. When they reach the bedroom, he helps her into the cool, crisp sheets, the fabric a heavenly balm against her feverish skin. He pulls the comforter up to her chin, yhe room spins slightly, but she squeezes her eyes shut and focuses on the comfort he's providing.
Jason, the second oldest, appeared in the doorway, his eyes bleary with sleep. "What's going on?" he asked, his gaze immediately finding her.
"Just a little fever," Dick said, his hand on her forehead, checking the temperature once more. "I'll get you some Tylenol and water."
"Thanks," she mumbled, her eyelids drooping as she settled into the pillows.
With a nod, Dick returned out of the room, leaving Jason with a silent promise to return soon. She felt the mattress shift as he flopped down beside her, his body heat adding to the warmth of the bed. He buried his face into the pillow and muttered, "It is too bloody early."
Her smile was faint. "It's okay. Just go back to sleep."
"And leave you in the hands of the nurse?" Jason quipped. He sat up, his gaze never leaving hers. "Not on my watch."
The room was quiet for a moment, filled only with the sound of her shallow breathing. She could feel the warmth from his body and the gentle pressure of his hand on her forehead. "All I'm saying is, did you have to get a fever at three in the morning?"
A faint chuckle escaped her lips, the sound foreign to the stillness. "I'll try to schedule it better next time," she murmured.
Tim, the third oldest, slipped into the room, his eyes scanning the scene. He was dressed in his usual attire, a simple t-shirt and shorts. "Why are you all up so early?" he asked, his voice groggy with sleep as he rubbed his eyes.
Dick passes Tim at the door, a glass of water and a bottle of Tylenol in hand. "Mom's got a fever," he says quietly. Tim's eyes widen with concern, and he quickly moves to the bedside. "How bad is it?"
"It's not too high," Dick reassures him. "But she needs to rest and stay hydrated." He opens the bottle and shakes out two pills, holding the water to her mouth as she swallows them. The cool liquid is a relief to her parched throat. "I've got it," he says to Tim. "You go back to bed."
Tim nods, but instead of leaving, he pulls out the chair from the vanity and sits down, crossing his legs under him. "I'm good," he says, his eyes never leaving hers. "I'll stay."
The concern in Tim's gaze is unmistakable, and she feels a warmth in her chest that has nothing to do with the fever. She tries to protest, but the words die in her throat. These boys, her makeshift sons, had grown into such capable, caring young men. They had all suffered their fair share of pain and loss, yet here they were, in the early hours of the morning, worried about her.
"Jason, we're trying to keep her temperature down, out of the bed," Dick says firmly, his tone a mix of affectionate exasperation.
"Fine," Jason groaned loudly, his voice a mix of amusement and exasperation. He reluctantly climbed off the bed, allowing the cool air to wash over her. She couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness at the loss of his warmth, but she knew it was for the best.
Without another word, Jason had plopped himself down on Tim's lap in the chair, a cheeky grin on his face. "If I can't keep mom warm, "then I'll just warm Tim up instead."
Tim's eyes widened in surprise, and he tried to push Jason off, his legs flailing. "Get off me! Your butt is crushing me!"
Jason just chuckled and tightened his grip. "Feel the warmth young Timmy, let it envelop you like a feverish embrace."
"I can't breathe," he gasped out with a grin.
"Good, then I'm doing my job," Jason said, his voice mischievous. Despite his playfulness, she could see the genuine worry in his eyes as he looked at her.
The door creaked open once more, and Damian, the youngest, peered in, his dark hair sticking up in all directions. "What's with all the noises?" he grumbled, his voice thick with sleep. "It's the middle of the night."
Dick looked up from where he sat on the edge of the bed, his thumb brushing the back of her hand in a silent gesture of comfort. "Mom's not feeling well," he said softly.
Damian's eyes grew round with concern, and he padded over to the bed "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice quieter than she'd ever heard it.
"Just a bit of a fever," she said, trying to keep the weariness from her voice.
Damian looked at Jason and Tim, his expression unreadable. "And those two?" he asked, nodding at the chair.
"Brotherly love," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Despite her fever, she couldn't help the fondness that filled her chest.
Tim's face grew red, his efforts to push Jason off him doubling in intensity. "It doesn't fell like it," he gasped. Dick couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of his brothers.
"Okay, okay," Dick said, standing up and pulling Jason to his feet with ease. "Up you go, you're not exactly the warm compress type."
Jason shot him a look but allowed himself to be removed, stretching dramatically before settling on the edge of the bed. "Fine, but I'm not going anywhere," he said, his eyes still on her.
Tim took a deep, exaggerated breath and let it out with a dramatic sigh. "Ah, the sweet taste of oxygen,"
The room filled with chuckles, the tension easing slightly. Dick handed her the water, and she took a grateful sip, the coolness spreading down her throat.
"Thanks, guys," she said, her voice still weak but filled with affection. "But really, you all should get back to sleep."
"You're right, we should go to sleep." Jason said, his voice filled with mock defeat. But instead of leaving, he flopped back on the bed, his body sprawling out in a way that was both endearing and alarmingly similar to Bruce's when he was trying to be comfortable.
"Jason," she warned, but it was too late. He had already pulled the blankets up to his chin, his eyes closing with feigned innocence. The room was filled with the sound of her own laughter and the boys' smothered giggles.
"Well, if he's staying, so am I," Tim said, his voice a mix of amusement and stubbornness. He lays down at her feet, his body curling up into a ball, his head resting on the edge of the bed. Damian, not to be outdone, slid in beside Jason, .
"Fine," Dick sighed, a small smile playing on his lips despite the early hour and the seriousness of the situation. "But if her fever doesn't break soon, we're all gotta leave, okay?"
Jason mumbled an agreement, his eyes already half-closed, while Tim nodded solemnly. Damian perfectly squeezed between Jason and Dick. For a moment, she felt a pang of sadness that Bruce wasn't here to share in this odd, yet comforting moment, but she quickly pushed it aside. This was their own brand of family, their own way of supporting each other.

Phantom: Jason Todd x ghost!reader
Tumblr media
part 2 to Specter
***
He would never say it outloud, not that he had to, but adjusting to living without her took much more time then it should.
When he came back, lost, confused and thrown into completely different reality when Tim replaced him in the role of Robin, when Damian joined the family, when he was apparently no longer welcomed and fitting, Y/N would have been the only familiar thing keeping him from jumping into the abyss of madness.
And now, he had to struggle through every day with the thought of her lingering in the back of his mind, followed by two simple words that seemed to justify his every action and pushing forward.
For her.
For her, because she wouldn’t want to watch you fall into the claws of depression.
For her, since it was the only way to prove he was actually worth something and if there was something beyond the grave, Jason wanted her to be proud of him.
Oh,
To see her, just one more time. To hear her voice, her laugh, to feel the touch of her hand on his cheek, always so gentle and caring, even when he did something stupid or reckless.
His mind was turning in direct proportion to the way his body was tossing in bed unable to sleep.
He missed her terribly, only now realizing how much pain it actually brings to loose someone without hope of ever getting them back into one’s life.
Like never ever.
What it meant to get killed and to kill. Having someone’s all fate in one’s hands, playing God, deciding who was and who wasn’t to survive. And if anything it felt like a heavy burden on his shoulders. Jason never regretted getting rid of the scumbags and criminals of Gotham, cleaning the street, taking on the responsibility neither Batman nor any of his brother were ever capable of pursuing. He knew the consequences, both positive and negative. But for the first time he understood the personal emptiness coming from killing.
If only she was here.
She would probably scoff at him, act indifferent and then say something funny or mocking to diffuse the tension that would make them both laugh and feel at least a bit better about this whole vigilantism mess they got involved in as kids.
Or maybe she would be like Bruce. Rejecting him because he had changed his tactics and methods of operation? After all, he wasn’t so brutal and aggressive when he was Robin, she knew him as.
“Fuck!” he hissed, jumping of the bed, unable to have any rest “Get yourself together Todd!” standing in front of bathroom mirror he clutched the sink, almost breaking it due to the force he put into action. “She’s dead. She’s gone. Who the fuck care of what she would think!?” he looked deep into his own eyes, showing desperation, loneliness, fear and uncertainty for future. Despite not being the one to dwell on the past and overanalyze, he could almost see the little street kid he was years ago looking back at him.
“On the other side of the mirror like a fucking Alice in Wonderland” he muttered to himself, head hanging low.
At least until he noticed a shadow appearing behind his back and reflecting in the glass surface, immediately activating all his fighting instincts.
“WHO THE HELL IS HERE?! GET OUT AND SHOW YOUR FACE YOU COWARD!”
Obviously no one showed up which only spur his aggression further on.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are.” Jason muttered casually, but there was no denying his predatory tone that made the innocent words seem life threatening.  “Cause when I find you myself, I’ll make you beg for mercy…” he smirked at the plan already forming in his head as he started searching for the intruder in the whole apartment.
“Is that how you greet an old friend?” a voice, not much louder than a whisper or a rustle of a spring wind bounced off the walls, but there still wasn’t anyone inside.
“SHOW YOURSELF!”
“You know, I can’t remember you being this violent back in the days….”
“THE HELL!?”
“Calm yourself Jaybird, I kinda get what it means to be brought back from the grave.”
“What--?”
Jason’s stutters weren’t interrupted by a thunder or lightning or any other supernatural weather occurrence and yet, the familiar silhouette floating in the air, surrounded by a faint blue glow, almost stopped his heart.
“Y/N?”
“Hey Jaybrird.” She smirked as if she wasn’t a ghost appearing out of thin air. “couldn’t leave me alone even from behind the grave, huh?”
“You’re dead!” he cried out taking a step back even if all his instincts were telling him to run from forward and hold her. The rational part of his brain telling him that she clearly had no body to hold.
‘No more than you I see. How’s life, Todd?”
“Like a second chance that I’m obviously wasting not being a good boy.” He rolled his eyes, suddenly feeling the wave of happiness and familiarity stemming from her presence even in this form.
“Oh, please!” she laughed “good boys are holdovers. Haven’t you heard that girls only fall for the misfits and rebels?”
“Is that why you’re here then? Cause you missed the rebel I became?”
“I’m here because clearly your obsessive thoughts about me became so intrusive that someone up there decided I need to come back and teach you a lesson about leaving dead people in peace.”
“Y/N…” he sighed meeting her eyes, that were still the same e/c orbs he loved so much.
“I know…”
“I missed you…”
“I know…”
Guided my some crazy instinct he approached her, his hand travelling up to cup her cheek, to feel the texture of her skin, but instead meeting the cold air when his fingers permeated the ghost form of his friend/lover.
And it was so fucking depressing. Having her so close and still feeling the distance and separation deriving from the thin line separating two worlds – living and death – unable to cross them. If he knew it would work and they would meet afterlife he would reach for one of his guns and put a bullet in his head right away just to be with her, but the risk of going straight to hell and being divided forever was too great.
So he settled on satisfying his eyes with her half-lucent presence and his ears with the home-like voice.
“I’m sorry-“ she whispered
“No.” he cut her off abruptly, tears almost springing from his eyes at having her but not having her at the same time. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t there for you. I should have been. I should have listened when you told me to stay and not pursue this stupid search-“
“It was not your fault. You were a kid.”
“I should have known better.”
“Neither of us did. And being stupid is a privilege of childhood and teenagerhood.”
“Is that your way of telling me I should be rational and mature now?” Jason teased, pushing the pain away, deep inside.
“Nah.” She laughed softly and it echoed through the empty space like bells “that’s impossible! Not with all I saw you doing.”
“You- you saw?!”
‘I saw. But me calling you out on all your shit is not something why I’m here.”
“Then why are you here Y/N?”
“I have no idea…”
“Is there any way to –“
“Bring me back?”
“Yeah.”
“Straight to the point, huh? Are there anything filthy in your mind that might be the reason of this sudden urge Mr. Todd?” Y/N joked.
“You have no idea.” Something dangerous flashed In his eyes “But seriously, is there?”
“Do I look like a ghost expert?”
“You are a ghost so who better!?”
“Oh, excuse me, let me call Klaus from umbrella academy and ask his expertise.”
“What? He;s a fictional character!”
“Yes, but it’s similar level of abstraction! I have no body, I have no special skills, sorry to disappoint, so even if I was to cast a spell or something-“
“A spell!” Jason interrupted her with the widest grin.
“What?” that sudden change in attitude got her by surprise, brows furrowing in confusion.
“I know an expert on the spells.”
“Please tell me you don’t mean—”
“Oh I do mean!”
“I am not going to take Constantine advice!”
‘Too bad I didn’t ask your opinion on the matter. It’s been decided.”
“Damn, you are an asshole.”
“Yeah, asshole desperate enough to make a fool out of himself if that gets him the girl he’s into back.”

Okay but >.> Body Swaps happen ALL the time in Heroics? Sure, sometimes it's brief. Only a fight. Maybe a day.
But SOMETIMES? You're looking at a couple days to a few weeks.
Eventually you gotta take a shower.
Gotta be naked, in that nubile young hotness. Perky, barely there Tim tits. Sensitive and eye-catching pink bits. Gotta take care of that body! It's not yours! Keep it nice a clean.
And you KNOW, Bruce copes with his shit mental health with sex. Either other people or his hand. Better then drinking or drugs! But it's a mental addiction. And this is NOT his body.
Doesn't even HAVE a cock.
But he's a "playboy". He can make do. It's not like he's going to take it "too far". He's not even attracted to Tim. Just in his body. Has NEEDS.
But... well...
Those glimpses of Tim in the mirror? Start getting to him. Fresh from the shower, pink and dripping. He's painfully aware of the sounds he's making. Breathy little pleasured noises. Tim's voice. The wet slick of his fingers rubbing and teasing.
His brain keeps betraying him. Visualizing what it must look like, what he's doing to "himself". Telling him to watch.
Eventually he does. Uses a mirror.
By the time they've switched back, his resolve had crumbled. He'd worked hot little fingers inside himself. Just to watch them disappear. Burned the image of that pink little hole in his memory. What he'd done to it.
And? Because it keeps happening? Maybe more Bat's can't help themselves. Maybe it's just Bruce.
But somebody spends hours, playing out fantasies just for themselves. Teasing Tim's body. Desperately riding fake cocks for the camera. Saying all the things they want to hear. Almost giddy as they make themselves feel good.
Fleshlight molds secretly sent off for custom work. So they can FEEL it when they get their dick back. For while they watch the tapes they make.
And of course, Tim? Would NEVER immediately explore ever inch of Batman's body. Jerk off his first Real Cock like he's trying to milk himself dry. Make dildo molds and tapes of his own.
Perish the thought! He is NOTHING if not respectful!
(Perverts your honor, they're all perverts. We love them for it)

STAR WARS X BATMAN
Anakin is reborn as the biological son of Bruce Wayne. He is born before Dick comes the Manor so it is just Bruce, Alfred, and him. Because his memories are intact, he forms an obsession with keeping his little family safe. His obsessive personality is very similar to Bruce's but he makes sure to hide how far it really goes. He won't have another parent dying on him, so when he finds out Bruce is Batman he becomes Batman's first sidekick. Bruce and Anakin are very close by the time Dick comes to live with them. At first, Anakin rebels at sharing his dad with someone else then becomes even more upset when Dick wants to go out and fight crime too and Bruce insists he go with them (Anakin didn't care if he went out alone). Anakin believes Dick will only distract Bruce and get him hurt.
Then Harvey Dent almost kills Dick and Bruce yells at him. Anakin is smug and hopes this is the last of it but then he hears Dick yelling about avenging his parents. Anakin realizes how similar they are. Bruce leaves the room and Anakin slips inside. He apologizes to Dick and Dick says he understands. Then Anakin promises to help Dick find his parent's killer.
Anakin starts helping Dick train. Bruce is bewildered by the change but doesn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. Then Anakin invites Dick to start patrolling together, just the two of them. Now Bruce is suspicious. One night he follows them and discovers they've been tracking the Grayson's killer. He meets them back at the cave and tells Dick he's looking into it and it's too dangerous. Dick gets angry again and leaves. Anakin tries explaining to his dad that Dick will only ever want to take down his parent's killer himself but Bruce won't hear it. He's already letting two kids out on the streets he doesn't need them any more involved. Bruce leaves too and Anakin is in the cave alone. He decides that he will be the compromise between them and settles down at the computer to keep investigating.
Anakin starts letting Batman and Robin patrol alone. Bruce, Dick, and Alfred are wary of this behavior change but Anakin isn't talking. One night Alfred goes to check on Anakin and he's gone. He calls Batman and Robin on patrol to alert them and they go looking for him. Turns out Anakin found the killer: Tony Zucco. When they find them, Anakin has Zucco tied to a trapeze at the site where Haly's Circus used to be. He laughs when he sees them and gestures to Zucco, offering Dick the chance to take his revenge. Bruce attempts to intervene but Anakin uses the Force to hold him down, an ability he's been hiding since he was born. He urges Dick to do it like Palpatine did him. It seems like Dick will until he looks into Anakin's eyes and sees their golden, crazed look. This isn't his brother anymore. Instead he tases Anakin to unconsciousness.
Anakin is sent to Arkham (this is before it became totally corrupted and a revolving door for criminals) into a part of the Asylum for patients who are violent but not criminals. At first. Bruce and Dick visit him weekly to check on his progress, but he refuses to speak to them. Eventually, he starts working with various Rogues against Batman that he meets in the Asylum (through low-level gang members) and is transferred to their section when he gets older. He noticeably always "accidentally" sabotages the Rogues when they're getting close to actually harming Batman but he has no such compunction against Robin.
He only meets Jason once but it leaves its impact on him long after when he is staring into a mirror with his own unnaturally angry eyes. The catalyst to Anakin rejoining the family is Tim, who goes to him after Dick rejects him to help Batman after Jason's death. Anakin agrees and they help him together.
Then, when Red Hood makes his dramatic return and Jason tries to make Bruce choose between him and the Joker, Anakin knows he has to be better this time. He is the one to knock Jason out and free Bruce. Finally, he goes to Bludhaven and knocks on Dick's door and apologizes. Dick smiles and tells him his eyes are blue again. They hug.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two pages from Dark Victory have stayed with me ever since I first read it because they're visually hella interesting, I enjoy Tim Sale's art for how stylish it is, but also because every time I see it, I hear the click of a spotlight being turned on, almost like this is a play being acted out. It highlights the connection between the characters, but that it also is shutting everything else out. That makes sense in the moment, Dick just watched his parents die, there's nothing else in the world for him. Bruce is reliving his own trauma of having watched his parents die, as well as watching another child go through the same thing--but, in a way I can't shake, it almost feels like Bruce is intruding on this moment, too. That Dick's loss gets interpreted as a mirror of Bruce's loss--Dark Victory goes to great lengths to hammer home that parallel, it is not at all subtle about it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what strikes me about the moment of the Graysons' deaths is that it feels almost like a play being acted out, that Bruce becomes part of it because they mirror each other so strongly, that for all they grow as individuals and come to love each other as uniquely different people, they will always be rooted in this mirroring of each other. Bruce isn't just a bystander to Dick's loss and grief, it fundamentally connects them and defines them--that in many ways Dick understands Bruce the best because, as Dick says about himself, when he was Robin, he was smaller than everyone else, so he had to learn to read people better, to know what they were going to do, because Dick was with Bruce the longest, because Dick and Bruce often are the most similar. But it's also that Dick understands Bruce best because Bruce allowed him in because of this mirror, that sometimes it feels like Bruce only understands people through the lens of his own grief, that's why Dick's the closest to him, because Dick shares that same loss. This isn't to undercut that Dick was a bright, lively child who brought laughter and joy because that is also absolutely true and I will fight tooth and nail anyone who says otherwise. Bruce loves that kid because Dick refused to not be loved, because he's not the same as Bruce, he's brighter, he's better, he's more in so many ways. Bruce and Dick's relationship isn't just one thing or another, there are times when it borders on almost being kind of healthy and then there are times when it's toxic as hell, yet it's always underscored by how much they genuinely love each other, how Bruce keeps thoughts of Dick in his mind to turn to for solace just like he turns to thoughts of his own father, how Dick demands to be worth just as much to Bruce's parents even when they've traveled into the future to be directly in front of him, and Dick gets that worth from Bruce. But sometimes I think about that panel, I hear a spotlight clicking on in my head, I think about Bruce unintentionally inserting himself into this moment of Dick's loss and how Bruce sometimes holds him closer to his heart because Dick's hurt mirrors his own so much. How sometimes Bruce sees the world through that lens of trauma and only how much people can understand it, that the rest of the world drops away and is nothing but black, empty space, except him and the person who understands his hurt.
That I can look at that panel and see it as its meant to be--a moment of pure connection, "I understand what you're going through, I can't take it away, but I can be here with you." and how that saved Dick Grayson's life, how it allowed him to heal and grow and thrive. I can see Bruce's heart breaking because he would have done anything to save this kid from that pain. And sometimes I can look at it and see Bruce watching a horrific play unfold before him and relating to it through his own issues, rather than true empathy. Ultimately, it's really more that they're kindred spirits, that's what the follow-up pages show, that Dick goes through the same process that Bruce went through, he does the same things Bruce did, all while Bruce isn't there to influence him into that at all. Dick is his own person, Bruce couldn't make him be a copy of Bruce if he'd wanted to, he couldn't even win an argument with a nine-year-old about putting on a costume and fighting crime with him and absolutely not staying out of the line of fire. Dick Grayson did what he was going to do, Bruce had nothing to do with making him into that person. But part of the reason they're such an interesting dynamic is because they're not just purely one thing or another, that for all that at the end of the day, Dick and Bruce are naturally like each other in a lot of core ways, it's also possible to read them as unhealthy co-dependent on each other, that them being everything to each other comes with some sharper edges, especially when Bruce sometimes resents Dick for growing beyond him and leaving him, even while desperately proud of him at the same time.
Tumblr media
It's a thing Bruce struggles with a lot when it comes to Dick and I think of this tangled web of emotions every time I see that second splash page above. That Bruce came to love this kid as a son, but also as someone who understood what it was like to live with that kind of devastating loss, and how hard Bruce connected with that--and then how hard it was to let him go, when Bruce can't let go of his parents. That it's hard for Bruce to see Dick grow beyond being the son who understood him best, who mirrored his tragedy best, and he'll do it, he loves his kid enough to keep climbing back up out of that desire to hold onto him as his reflection even if he falls back into it sometimes, that some part of him will always see Dick as the one who had that connection that blocked the rest of the world out and understood him in a way no one else could.

Jason Todd x fem!!reader
Where the reader is going to the Wayne gala to like do a mission with one of the big guys who owns a company. So she is trying her best to get information out of him but it gets a little bit hard. So the man wants to kiss her and forcing her to just have some alone time. Jason comes to save her.
No Damsels Here.
Warnings: Swearing, Some violence, pharmacitucles is pronounced like heracles.
"So, is like... you said something about pharmacitucles? Is that just.. what does that mean?" You ask coyly, gently toying with the thin strap on your dress.
"Pharmaceuticals." Mr North corrects you, his eyes watching the delicate movement of your fingers. "We manufacture drugs," he shakes his head, "Medicine, for sick people." He says in the most condescending voice you've heard since Tim had to explain to Bruce how to delete his tweets.
"Ooo, anything fun?" You perk up, trying to sound every bit the ditsy heiress. You've found that men like Mr North, are so much more eager to tell you things when they can talk down to you about it.
"I could show you." He leans his disgustingly close to your face, "in my office."
"Is it up stairs?" You throw your hands behind your back, simultaneously pushing your tits out and signalling to Jason that your moving. You make what you assume a bashful laugh sounds like and peer over at Jason who's finishing up his drink.
"Top floor. You'll love the view of the city from there."
"Is it like fight club?"
"Oh, you've seen fight club?" Mr North asks, sliding his slimey hand around you and leading you towards the lift.
"It was great." You lie, "Brad Pitt is so handsome." You nearly puke at the thought.
"Truly a masterpiece on how masculinity has been suffocated in our generation." His fingers dig in even closer as you watch in the reflection of the glass as Jason makes his way slowly toward you.
Mr North dribbles on about how fight club is a masterpiece barely allowing you to get a word in edgewise. But when he finally stops talking you manage to squeeze in "so are these fun drugs?" You smile, "I had some of those while I was at Berkely."
"They can be very fun." He almost smiles, taking the few steps from the elevator and opening an office door, "I think you'll like them."
"Yay." You nearly die as the word leaves your lips and you watch Mr North fumble with the lock of his safe. "What ya got in there?" You try to feign interest in a statue on the opposite wall, while not so obviously trying get a peak in side
"Only these." He shakes the pill bottle, throwing it on his desk before coming up behind you. "You're very pretty you know." His arm tightens around your waist, "Such a shame," his fingers press into your cheeks, while his filthy tongue licks at your neck, "Open up."
"Let me go." You shout, piercing his shoe with your heel and making him falter.
"I didn't take you for a fighter." He sneers, wrapping his hand around your throat to tilt you head back.
"I'll fucking kill you," your breath almost as heavy as Jason's words echoing in your head.
"You don't need a gun. It's a simple mission. In and out." In and out, like fuck. You're going to kill him right after you kill this asshole.
"Bit wider," Mr North orders you, pressing your cheeks even harder.
"I can fucking see you." You glare at the looming reflection in the mirror, "the fuck are you doing?"
"I don't need help." Jason struts forward, twirling his gun on his finger, "I can do this on my own," he shoots Mr North in the leg making him fall to his knee and release you, "I'm a big girl."
"I would never," you kick Mr North in his shitty face, "call myself a big girl."
"Who the fuck are you?" Mr North spits a tooth out.
"You're not involved in this," Jason snaps at him, shooting him in his other leg, "be quiet. Wait- what happened to your neck?" He stares at the finger prints you imagine are there.
"The fuck does it matter? Where have you been?"
"Mingling." Jason rolls his eyes at your dissmissiveness.
"What-" Mr North winces when you press your heel into his bullet wound.
"Shut up now." You spit on the man before turning to Jason, "Give me my gun."
"Bossy," Jason's says, throwing your stainless steel Colt, "you going to shoot me?" He asks when you point the gun at him.
"Not today." You swerve, letting your gun off into Mr North's head, "those are the drugs there. Let's get em to babs."
"Are you sure you're ok?" He stops you, his fingers grazing along your cheekbones and brushing your hair back.
"Yes. But if you take my gun from me again," you stare up right into his eyes, "it'll be the last thing you ever see."
"No, the last thing I'd see would be you're beautiful face," his nose brushes yours, "and boy, what a way to go."

any thoughts on batman: black mirror? i really enjoyed it (as a non-batfamily fan) but i'm wondering if there is a difference of opinion with people who are actually acquainted with the context behind black mirror, i guess. which parts did you find the strongest + which parts did you find the weakest?
anyways, im a huge fan of your comics-posting (which is both, in the best way, entertaining and insightful). have a great day!
Ahhh thank u!! I'm glad I'm not the only one having fun 😁!!!
Thank you so much for sending this, I loved the dick!bats era and I liked The Black Mirror!!
I thought it was a decent Dick story, and I loved that it had Babs and Tim as the supporting cast. It was good to see them back(mostly) in their 90s early 2000s element.
I thought that the A plot was better than the serial killer B plot-; it had a lot of personal connection for Dick without being about the Graysons and orcas(which are some of the most vicious and borderline cruel predators that terrify me to my core and it was really cool to see them get some use)- even if I didn't find the ending super satisfying.
I thought James was interesting, and his story was more linear but the addition of the Joker into the situation was kind of just...messy and not entirely necessary? It kind of killed it for me. Idk I might just have Joker fatigue. I did like the coloring and a good portion of the art better in that part of the story, tho. I thought the mood they set was really cool and a little scary.
My high points were all (unsurprisingly) character based:
I loved the way Tim saving Dick from his own shit here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kinda paralleled this scene in NW 96

But more mature. Watching them go from Dick mentoring Tim to them having a much more balanced relationship where Tim can fully have Dick's back has always been super satisfying and seeing it making a come back after their little fallout was cool
I also like the attention paid to the differences in Bruce and Dick's philosophy (specifically here:
Tumblr media
) and the difficulty that Batman presents Dick because of it. Part of the appeal of Dick being Batman is the reluctance and the chunk of flesh it takes out of him and I think this story really got the tone of that right. He's making mistakes that he wouldn't normally, he's not sleeping; you can really tell that everything is getting to him. He feels like the walls are closing in on him with no way out (sometimes literally) and it makes the whole story kind of..weary? It's as much man vs man as it is man vs self. Love that many of the action sequences in the book happen in enclosed places that have an unstoppable deadly force converging on him with no way out and how that emphasizes the theme
OH and my absolute favorite analogy for the mindset that dick operates w/ is in this book
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how that works with his parents rules for survival
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's like... a debate on whether Dick plans or if he acts on instinct and I like the way that this breaks it down to: yes, he's planning from the start and if it seems like he isn't it's because that's what he wants you to think- but he understands that leaving space to bob and weave is a part of that process. Ultimate planner that is liable to start behaving erratically as fuck at any moment is such a fun look
Favorite fight was probably the horror forward snap at the auction, with honorarable mentions going to Dick v.s the compactor, Dick v.s. the orca, and of course Dick v.s. The bends
Worst was by far this one:
Tumblr media
There is no way he should've been able to waltz into Babs' hideout without her knowing I'm so sorry it's just not realistic, like, that's Barbara Gordon???
